The Atomic Blonde actress has been in South Africa for the past few days, and earlier this week she and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah paid a surprise visit to Oaklands High School in Lansdowne, Cape Town, according to Eyewitness News.
Charlize Theron visited Soweto to support the programme’s latest initiative, a safe space for girls and young women.
The grounds now also house a refurbished shipping container that’s been painted in pink. It’s the first of several Choma Dreams Cafes set up in collaboration with the CTAOP.
A group of young smiling girls greeted journalists inside the space holding sparkly banners with the word “dreams” splashed across them.
So many beautiful faces at @ctaop grantee @salesian_life_choices. Thank you for hosting us today!

The young women will benefit from the internet-connected hub. Any girl can come to receive trauma counselling, seek advice and to learn how to prevent the spread of HIV.
The centres provide a safe space for girls to gather, with the hopes that it will encourage independent and confident young leaders.
