Ukraine news today: Heavy snowfall caused 8 people killed, 45 injured in road accidents on Jan.8
Eight people were killed and another forty-five were injured as a result of adverse weather conditions and increased accident incidence rate on the roads in Ukraine over the past day, according to the police, Joinfo.com reports with reference to Ukrinform.
In particular, the worst situation on the roads is observed in Chernivtsi, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv regions.
Ukraine Crisis: Militants made 51 attacks, 5 soldiers WIA in Donbas
Militants launched 51 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Ant-Terrorist Operation area in Donbas over the past day, Joinfo.com reports with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.
Five Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in action in eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours, as ATO press service reported as of January 9, 2017.
In the Donetsk sector, militants fired 82mm mortars on Avdiyivka, Mayorske, Luhanske. They also fired grenade launchers and small arms at the villages of Luhanske and Zaitseve, and at Avdiyivka town.
In the Mariupol sector, the enemy used 82mm and 120mm mortars for shelling at Mar’inka, Hnutove, Troitske, Vodiane, Talakivka, and Krasnohorivka. They also fired grenade launcher and small arms at positions of Ukrainian troops in Pavlopil and Krasnohorivka.
In the Luhansk sector, the enemy shelled at Novozvanivka and Stanytsia Luhanska with small arms and grenade launchers.
