The Defense Ministry announced details of the mobilization for reserve officers, who graduated military departments of universities but did not serve in the army, Joinfo.com reports with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.
The relevant comments appeared on the website of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine on Thursday. The ministry named this stage of mobilization “an analogue of military service.”
“It will be so to speak, an analogue of the military service, but it will involve Ukrainian citizens under the age of 43 years, who graduated military departments [of high schools and universities], received a military rank of second lieutenant of reserve but have not served,” – said in a statement.
The service term will be 18 months, while the contract term will depend on the rank of an officer.
So, the contract term will be up to 3years for privates, from 3 to 5 years – for junior officers, from 2 to 10 years – for senior officers.
Ukraine’s General Staff has earlier announced that the Ukrainian army will consist of conscripts and contract servicemen.
The Ukrainian army is expected to transfer to a contract service mode by 2020.
