Ukraine’s security service discovered 2 tonnes TNT cache in Donbas prior to Independence Day

According to the SBU information, the cache of 1,875 kg of TNT was hidden by militants of the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” (DPR) in order to conduct sabotage operations at the civil and military facilities of the region prior to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Interfax.

Immediate operational investigative measures on these grounds are underway.

It should be recalled that in mid-August the State Security Service of Ukraine assessed the terrorist threat level for all regions of Ukraine. The relevant decision was taken following the worsening situation on the administrative border with Crimea and in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation.
