On August 8, the enemy has seriously violated the Minsk Agreements by using the prohibited heavy artillery, according to information as of 6 a.m. of Tuesday, released by spokesperson of the ATO press center Major Iryna Baranova, Joinfo.ua reports.
In the Mariupol sector, occupants opened fire with 122mm artillery in Shyrokyne village and released 116 shells on positions of the ATO forces.
In addition, the enemy fired more than 170 shells of various calibers on Krasnohorivka, Shyrokyne, Vodiane and Hnutove villages. Armed provocations with use of grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms have continued in Mar’inka and Starohnativka.
In the Donetsk sector, Russian proxies fired 152mm artillery on the village of Luhanske. The enemy conducted armed provocations with the use of mortars and grenade launchers of various calibres and systems in the area of Troitske, Verhnetoretske, Avdiyivka. Occupants fired machine guns on positions of the ATO forces in Kam’ianka, grenade launchers – in Mayorsk.
From morning to noon, the enemy observed the silence mode, and then resumed shelling in all directions.
In the Luhansk sector, invaders have intensified shelling in the afternoon. They fired mortars, grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms on Ukrainian positions in Novozvanivka, Novooleksandrivka, Vodiane and Novotoshkivske. The enemy opened fire with grenade launchers and small arms in Zolote. Also, a sniper fire was recorded in the village.
The enemy has also continued to intensively use unmanned aerial vehicles for reconnaissance.
It should be recalled that on August 7, Russian proxies made 61 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas, used heavy weapons.
