“We expect [an offensive of the Russian Armed Forces] at any time”, – spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for Antiterrorist Operation Colonel Andriy Lysenko said to journalists at the briefing, answering the question of a possible conflict escalation along the entire boundary line in eastern Ukraine, where the enemy military equipment massing, manpower rotation and border crossing in uncontrolled areas have recently been detected, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to UNIAN.
“Russian troops are carrying out maneuvers in north Crimea and all the checkpoints have been closed for some time on the initiative of the Russian side. That occupation forces are carrying out their maneuvers, and we have to realize that at any moment, at any time they may begin a large-scale or small-scale offensive,”- said Lysenko.
He stressed that the ATO forces are monitoring the situation in areas of the greatest buildups of the enemy equipment and accumulating reserves for a possible attack reflection.
Lysenko emphasized that the armed forces concentrated on the other side of the boundary line belong to Russia.
“We can talk about the rotation of Russian officers who run departments and participate in the planning of combat operations,” – he said.
It was also reported that later today the Russian occupation authorities have resumed crossing at one of the checkpoints – in Chongar.
