“With the election of new members for the next two years, we finally know that Ukraine will chair the Security Council in February 2017. We’re already preparing for this,” Volodymyr Yelchenko wrote on Twitter, UNIAN reports.

Yelchenko also recalled that an indicative vote for the new Secretary General of the organization would take place soon: “We are beginning to work in the Security Council in July, chaired by Japan. It will be interesting – the first indicative vote for the future UN Secretary General, too many candidates.”
