Eight Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in action in the Donetsk sector. One Ukrainian soldier, who was heavily wounded in Zaitseve on 1 June, died in the hospital, said the spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for ATO issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at the briefing in the Information Center of the Ukraine’s National Security Service, Joinfo.ua reports.
In the Donetsk sector, militants actively used mortars and infantry fighting vehicles (BMPs). According to the HQ information, they released over 250 mortar shells on positions of the ATO forces. Most violent attacks and shootings were on the Svitlodarsk arc, in Zaitseve, Novoselivka Druha, Avdiyivka, Opytne. In total, there were 14 enemy attacks in the Donetsk sector.
In the Mariupol sector, occupants made 31 attacks, including 12 with use of mortars. Militants fired almost along the entire front line, except the section between Novohnativka and Chermalyk. They mostly shoot in the afternoon. The main ‘hotspots’: Krasnohorivka, Mar’inka, Novotroitske, Shyrokyne.
Today, the enemy made a powerful mortar shelling on Krasnohorivka and Mar’inka, damaged 4 houses and cut off the electricity supply in some residential areas.
In the Luhansk sector, there were 4 enemy attacks yesterday in Stanytsia Luhanska and Novozvanivka. Invaders attacked mostly at night.
According to the information of the Head Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, 8 enemy subversive and reconnaissance groups were spotted in the ATO area. In particular: 2 groups – near the village of Luhanske, 1 – near Zaitseve, 2 – near Avdiyivka, 1 – near Krasnohorivka, 1 – near Mar’inka, 1 – near Novotroitske.
Also, Ukrainian intelligence detected 4 enemy UAV reconnaissance flights in the Donetsk and Mariupol sectors yesterday.
