On May 29, occupants actively used mortars for shelling on positions of the ATO forces. They fired 220 mortar shells yesterday, said the spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for ATO issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at the briefing in the Information Center of the Ukraine’s National Security Service, Joinfo.ua reports.
In the Donetsk sector, there was an ongoing fighting near the village of Luhanske, Avdiyivka and the position of “Coal mine Putylivska” (aka “Mine Butivka-Donetska”).
It was quiet in the industrial zone of Horlivka and near the Donetsk airport yesterday. All Ukrainian troops are holding the occupied positions, the front line remains stable. In just the past day, there were 14 enemy attacks in the Donetsk sector, including 6 – with the use of heavy weapons.
In the Mariupol sector, invaders made 1 artillery bombardment and a series of mortar attacks along all the section of the front line day and night. In total, there were 11 enemy attacks, including 6 – with the use of heavy weapons.
Residents of areas nearby the frontline are being affected by militant attacks. According to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission, about 8,000 people are suffering due to lack of water near Dokuchaevsk. A local supply company can not repair the cable, as militants continue to fire.
According to the military intelligence, yesterday the enemy used 7 UAVs in the Donetsk sector (nearby the villages of Chasiv Yar, Zaitseve, Mayorsk, Tarasivka, Alexandropil and near the town of Avdiyivka). One of them was launched from the territory of Russia, from the village of Matveyev Kurgan, Rostov region.
Militants respected the truce completely in the Luhansk sector yesterday.
During the last day of hostilities, three Ukrainian soldiers were killed, 8 – were wounded in action in the Donetsk and Mariupol sectors of the ATO area.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, during May 27-29 the enemy losses amounted to 10 killed and 11 wounded fighters (all – in the Donetsk sector).
