ATO HQ: Russian-terrorist forces downed OSCE drone in eastern Ukraine

In the Luhansk sector, the enemy violated the truce only once near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska, said the spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for ATO issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at the briefing in the Information Center of the Ukraine’s National Security Service, Joinfo.ua reports.

In the Donetsk sector, the situation remains tense. Russian-terrorist forces were shelling actively throughout the day. They fired on positions of the Ukrainian army near Zaitseve, Avdiyivka and two positions on the perimeter of Donetsk airport (Opytne and the position “Coal mine Putylivska” (aka “Mine Butivka-Donetska”).

Occupants have dramatically increased the density of mortar fire. Last night, they fired over 100 mortar shells on positions of the ATO forces. The enemy also occasionally uses infantry combat vehicles (BMPs).

In total, there were 15 enemy attacks in the Donetsk sector of the ATO area, including 12 mortar attacks.

In the Mariupol sector, the situation was somewhat calmer. There were 14 enemy attacks, including 6 – with use of mortars. Invaders violated the truce along all the front line, but the greatest number of attacks took place in Krasnohorivka, near Dokuchayevsk and Shyrokyne.

According to the information of the Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, 9 enemy drone flights were recorded along the entire front line yesterday. It was determined that one UAV had been launched from the territory of Russia. During May 2016, there were detected 91 enemy UAV flights in the ATO area, of which 59 were detected last week.

This morning, insurgents have shot down a UAV of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in the south-western outskirts of Horlivka. It should be recalled that the obstruction the work of the OSCE mission is a gross violation of paragraph 3 of the Minsk agreements.

During the last day of hostilities, none of Ukrainian soldiers were killed, 14 – were wounded in action due to enemy attacks in the Donetsk sector, and explosion of the infantry combat vehicle (BTR-80) on the road mine near Starohnativka.

The occupants have suffered losses yesterday: 4 dead and 11 wounded fighters from the three groups of the illegal armed group “DPR”.
