ATO HQ report: militants attacked Ukrainian troops with prohibited weapons

The situation in the area of ​​the Anti Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine (ATO) remains tense. The enemy continues to grossly violate the truce, using heavy weapons. Last night, illegal armed groups 15 times opened fire on Ukrainian units, according to the information released by a spokesman for the press center of the ATO Major Anton Myronovych, Joinfo.ua reports.

In the Donetsk sector, the “hot spot” was in the industrial zone in south district of Avdiyivka. There, occupants repeatedly fired on positions of the Ukrainian army with small arms, grenade launchers and 82mm and 120mm mortars.

In the Mariupol sector, militants repeatedly opened fire on strongholds of the ATO forces near the village of Novotroitske.  They used heavy machine guns, grenade launchers of various systems and anti-aircraft units.

In the Luhansk sector, invaders fired on Ukrainian servicemen near the village of Syze with anti-tank grenade launcher.

An enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) conducted reconnaissance flight in the Donetsk region last night. It should be recalled that on Wednesday, an enemy UAV bombed territory nearby a Ukrainian military rear unit.

Since mignight, militants fired at least three times on positions of the ATO forces near Avdiyivka and Opytne. They used 82mm and 120mm mortars.
