G7 Foreign Ministers call to implement Minsk Agreements over Ukraine

G7 Foreign Ministers call to implement Minsk Agreements over Ukraine

April 11, foreign chiefs as a part of the ongoing two-day G7 meeting in Hiroshima denounced the illegal annexation of Crimea and stressed on a necessity to adhere by Minsk Agreements for peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, Interfax-Ukraine reports with reference to Foreign Ministry of Japan.

“The sides have stressed the necessity of fully implementing the Minsk agreements, on both Ukrainian and Russian sides, for resolving the situation in Ukraine through peaceful and diplomatic means,” reads the statement.

It should ve recalled that Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Sunday that Russia may return to the G8 but only on particular conditions. Steinmeier stressed the need for Russia’s contribution to reaching a “political solution” of the crisis in Ukraine and the “constructive role in establishing peace in Syria.”
