Ukrainian servicewoman and parliamentarian Nadiya Savchenko has announced a termless thirst strike starting April 6. She demands her immediate transfer under guard to Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.
“As a response to the criminal actions of the Russian authorities against me and against Ukraine, I declare a termless dry strike beginning from April 6, 2016. I demand to immediately bring me back to Ukraine. I ban my transfer under guard to any place, except for Ukraine,” reads a letter written by Savchenko and posted by her lawyers in the social networks on Monday.
Mark Feygin, Nadiya’s lawyer wrote on Twitter today that she refused to file appeal to the Russian court:
It should be recalled that Nilolai Polozov, Nadiya Savchenko’s lawyer, said today that her health condition has stabilized.
Nadiya Savchenko was captured in Donbas in June 2014, illegally brought to Russia and after a sham litigation sentenced for 22 years in colony.
A few days ago the head of the Russian Investigation Committee said that Nadiya Savchenko could be exchanged for the Russians detained in Ukraine.
