March 30, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko put into effect personal sanctions against individuals involved in illegal actions regarding Nadiya Savchenko, Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Presidential press service.

The signed Decree №121/2016 that puts into effect the NSDC’s decision of March 25, 2016 “On Application of Personal Special Economic and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions) against Individuals Involved in Illegal Actions regarding Nadiya Savchenko, Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko”.

The Decree was signed on the eve of the working visit to the United States.

The NSDC’s decision contains a list of individuals against which termless personal special economic sanctions will be imposed.

Under the decision, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine must ensure the monitoring of sanctions’ efficiency. The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine must inform respective authorities in the EU, USA and other states for them to consider the possibility of imposing similar sanctions.

The Decree takes effect from the date of publication.
