Yesterday Russian MI-8 helicopter based in the occupied Crimea, during the observation flight invaded the airspace over Kherson region of Ukraine. The incident occurred on Arabat Spit near the gas distribution station in the village Strilkove, said Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, the spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for ATO issues at the briefing in Analytical-Information Center of the Ukrainian Security Service, Joinfo.ua reported.
In Donetsk sector yesterday it was restless on all parts of the front line. Militants carried out 48 attacks on strongholds of the Ukrainian army.
There were “hot spots” on the contact line in Luhanske, Zaitseve, Avdiyivka, Pisky, Opytne, Krasnohorivka, where militants were actively using mortars and armored vehicles. Snipers also fired actively in the area. The fighting usually sharply activates in the afternoon and reaches its peak after sunset. During the past day militants released over 100 pounds of various calibers on positions of the ATO forces.
In Mariupol sector yesterday there was a combat between Ukrainian troops and militants in the area between Novotroitske and Dokuchayevsk. Militants arrived on the KAMAZ truck under the cover of firing and attacked the ATO’s strong point. But Ukrainian troops opened fire in response and the militants, losing men and machinery, retreated eastward. Also on the same part of the contact line there were 2 attacks by armed militants’ groups; in both cases the ATO forces opened fire in response. In addition, separatists violated the silence mode in Hnutove and Shyrokyne.
In Luhansk area it was quiet yesterday.
For the past day none of Ukrainian soldiers was killed, 4 were wounded in action in Avdiyivka as a result of fighting between Ukrainian troops there. Also, 2 soldiers of the Ukraine’s Armed Forces were wounded in explosion of a trip wire in Stanytsia Luhanska.
