In Donetsk sector heavy fighting сontinues near Avdiyivka town. Yesterday militants started powerful shelling on positions of the ATO forces in this sector about 19 hours, said the spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for ATO issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at the briefing in the Information Center of the Ukraine’s National Security Service, Joinfo.ua reports.

The invaders actively used heavy weapons, including mortars, tanks and 122mm artillery. After the preliminary bombardment, militants carried out an attack, which lasted about three hours. Ukrainian troops opened fire in response and successfully repelled their attempts to move forward. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Ukrainian soldiers, the front line remained unchanged, despite the fact that militants fired from two directions – from the south (Spartak) and from the east (Yasynuvata).

Other “hot spots” on the contact line were near the village of Zaitseve, where illegal armed groups carried heavy fire from small arms and grenade launchers, and near the Donetsk Airport, where militants fired from mortars.

In total on the past day in the Donetsk sector there were 37 shellings and one combat.

In Mariupol sector militants made two mortar attacks in Pavlopil. Also, a number of enemy provocations took place on other locations – in Novotroitske, Hranitne and Shyrokyne.

In total on the past day in Mariupol sector there were 6 shellings on Ukrainian positions.

In Luhansk sector of the area of the Anti Terrorist Operation it was quiet yesterday.

During the past day of hostilities one Ukrainian soldier was killed, 10 were wounded in action.
