Last night number of militants’ attacks and armed provocations increased sharply at the contact line in Donbas. Terrorists actively used mortars, artillery and armored vehicles banned by the Minsk agreements, said the spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for ATO issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at the briefing in the Information Center of the Ukraine’s National Security Service, Joinfo.ua reports.
In Luhansk sector militants carried out one armed provocation near the village of Novozvanivka, using small arms and rocket launchers.
In Donetsk sector the hottest points of the confrontation were in three areas: near the Donetsk Airport, in the outskirts of Horlivka and near the village of Luhansk, located in Svitlodarsk district.
Thus, militants were shelling on Ukrainian positions near Avdiyivka. The shelling started with tank attack at 5:50 am and ended with the aimed fire of 122mm anti-aircraft mobile installation at 18:20.
During the day terrorists fired on Avdiyivka with small arms, grenade launchers, and 82mm and 120mm mortars, banned by the Minsk agreement. They also fired a tank twice and once – with the infantry combat vehicle (BMP).
During the day militants have not stopped attacks on positions of the ATO forces near the village of Pisky and Opytne. The two sniper attacks were also recorded in that area. Besaides, militants fired four times with 120mm mortar near Pisky.
The Russia-backed mercenaries released 54 shells from 82mm mortar from their strong point in the village of Staromykhailivka on Ukrainian positions in Krasnohorivka. A sniper also fired there.
Another hot spot was in Zaitseve and Mayorsk near Gorlovka. Here invaders fired with small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers. A sniper fired near Zaitseve.
Also nearby the village of Luhanske militants fired small arms, heavy machine guns, grenade launchers and infantry fighting vehicles (BMP).
In Mariupol sector the enemy concentrated fire from 82mm mortars near the village of Mar’inka and Chermalyk. In Mar’yintsi it was recorded a sniper fire and numerous provocations with the use of small arms. According to the Joint Center for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC) under militants’ fire got workers who carried out repairs on the pipeline Mar’inka-Krasnohorivka. No one was hurt, but they had to stop work.
Militants also held provocations near Shyrokyne, Hranitne and Vodyane. In Mariupol outskirts a civilian on a tractor hit a militants’ explosive device and was wounded.
During the last day of hostilities, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and one wounded. Among them – one soldier was killed in mortar attack near Avdiyivka, and the other two soldiers came under fire from enemy infantry fighting vehicles when moving to the strong point of the ATO forces near the village of Novhorodske.
