On March 9 the Russian court resumed the hearing on the case of Ukrainian pilot and MP Nadia Savchenko. Nadia has been on a ‘dry’ hunger strike since March 4, Joinfo.ua reports.

“The [Russian] court has stolen a week of my life, and you only have a week for adjudication, and maybe I would live up to this decision. You can make it to look good by admitting your mistake, but you will not acknowledge your guilt. You can announce the verdict today or tomorrow, or in a week at most. If you decide the sentence will be in two weeks or at the end of April or in half a year … You want to show your power – then show it, but remember, you’re playing with my life. The stakes are high, and I win. I have nothing to lose. I will continue a hunger strike if the decision is made more than in a week. I have said everything, and I will not wait for the verdict. That’s all, thank you! “- said Savchenko.

On March 7 more than 2,000 people including well-known artists, politicians and intellectuals from different countries have signed an open letter to European leaders, which contains the call to help the release of Ukrainian pilot and MP Nadiya Savchenko, who was kidnapped and has been imprisoned in Russia for over 20 months.

Yesterday the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry calls on Russia to immediately free Nadia Savchenko.
