Rallies in support of imprisoned Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko held in European countries and even in Russia

On Sunday Ukrainians rallied on the Maidan Nezalezhnosti square in the center of Kyiv to demand from Russia to release Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, illegally imprisoned on accusation of complicity of murder of the two Russian journalists in eastern Ukraine

On March 6 about 2,000 people held a rally in support of Nadiya Savchenko. People demand Russia to release Nadiya, who declared a hunger strike on March 3, Joinfo.ua reports.

Russian court denied her to deliver the last speech at the hearing. Nadiya declared a hunger strike because the court violated her rights.

Rallies were held also in Czech Republic, Belgium, Georgia and even in Russia.

The Ukrainians and the Belgians, who took part in demonstrations in Antwerp, expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian heroine and demanded that Putin’s regime release her.

According to Radio Liberty, in Russian St. Petersburg about 30 people came to the Nevsky Prospekt in the city center with posters demanding to set Savchenko free.

Activists handed out leaflets with the text of Nadiya’s last plea, which the Ukrainian could not say in court.
