In the area of the Anti Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine, Russian mercenaries do not stop shelling positions of Ukrainian soldiers, ignoring any agreements on de-escalation of the conflict in Donbas. This information was released this morning by the spokesman of the ATO headquarters spokesman Major Serhiy Zhmurko, Joinfo.ua reported.

Insurgents carried out 62 attacks on positions of the Ukrainian army, using mortars more frequently.

In Donetsk sector terrorists carried out 34 attacks on fortifications of the Ukrainian troops. They fired large-caliber machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems on the strongholds of ATO forces near the villages of Troitske, Krasnohorivka, Opytne, Pisky, Zaitseve and Luhanske.

In Mariupol sector militants fired ​​82mm and 120 mm mortars at the ATO’s positions near Hnutove and Talakivka, fired from combat infantry vehicle (BMP-2) – near Novotroitske and Hranitne.

Militants fired grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns on strong points of Ukrainian army near Mar’inka.

At 21:00 a subversive group attacked the Ukrainian troops’ stronghold near Novotroitske with small arms and hand grenades. They were rebuffed by Ukrainian troops with small arms, grenade launchers and combat infantry vehicle (BMP-1) and retreated towards Dokuchaevsk.

Militant also carried out point-blank fire from mortars on the fortifications of the Ukrainian army near the villages of Vodiane, Pavlopil, Talakivka and Hnutove.
