In Luhansk region of the ATO area it was absolutely quiet yesterday.
In Donetsk region the situation was tense on all fronts. On the northern outskirts of Horlivka and in Pisky militants used heavy weapons – 82-mm and 120-mm mortars. They released a few dozen mines, said Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, the spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for ATO issues at the briefing in Analytical-Information Center of the Ukrainian Security Service, Joinfo.ua reports.
Snipers fired at Ukrainian positions in the villages of Luhanske, Dacha, Avdiyivka.
The place of the most active hostilities was in the suburbs of Horlivka (Zaitseve, Mayorsk, Novgorodske), where the militants fired intensively during 24 hours.
As it was reported earlier, from February 3 the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) command decided to close the checkpoint in the village of Zaitseve, Donetsk region, in order not to endanger civilians in the situation of increasing shelling by pro-Russian mercenaries.
Militants opened fire from the east and south near Avdiyivka.
Also on the outskirts of Donetsk and Horlivka, Ukrainian army got under enemy bombardment on the second line of defense.
In Mariupol sector, the forces of the ATO held a combat with a subversive group of militants near the village of Pishchevyk. The battle lasted about one hour, after which the enemy subversive group retreated eastward.
Also, militants repeatedly broke the silence in Maryinka. In particular, a sniper shoot at Ukrainian positions.
For the past day, none of Ukrainian soldiers was killed, but two were wounded in action.
