As the ATO press center reported, in Donbas, the pro-Kremlin insurgent gangs continued shelling at the fortified positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the past 24 hours. They used different weapons including heavy weapons, prohibited by the Minsk Agreements, Joinfo.ua reports.

During the day of January 31, the Russia-backed separatists 27 times violated the regime of silence in the East of Ukraine.

In the area of the Donetsk airport, militants fired at Ukrainian strongholds in the villages of Opytne and Pisky from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns; from armored infantry carrier and grenade launchers of various systems – near Novgorodske.

The most intense fire insurgents conducted in the area of Krasnohorivka using heavy machine guns 82mm and 120 mm mortars. Militants also attacked strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Avdiyivka, Maryinka, Troitske and Verkhnetoretske.

From midnight to 6:00 a.m. of February1, 2016, illegal armed gangs 26 times violated the ceasefire in Donbas.

Militants conducted shelling at Ukrainian fortifications from small arms and 82mm and 120 mm mortars in the area Krasnohorivka and Zaitseve; near Mayorsk they used mortars and heavy machine guns.

At night, militants continued to fire at the positions of Ukrainian soldiers in the village of Novgorodske from infantry fighting vehicles and grenade launchers of different systems.

The situation remains tense on the outskirts of temporarily occupied Donetsk. Militants fired at Ukrainian strongholds in Avdiyivka, Pisky, Opytne, Maryinka and near Butivka coalmine from small arms and grenade launchers of various systems.

In Mariupol sector, militants fired at Ukrainian positions near the village of Starohnativka.
