On January 25, at the 9th economic forum “Europe-Ukraine” in Poland, Ukrainian deputies of the Ukrainian parliament has staged a walk-out from discussion panels, because of the participation of Russian and pro-Russian politician in events. It was announced by Oksana Syroid, the Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Delo.ua.

In particular, the panel, in which Syroid participated, was visited by the Head of the Department of Public Relations of MGIMO (Moscow foreign relations university) Valery Solovey. Oksana Syroid walked out of the hall in protest before the completion of the discussion.

At other events, Ukrainian MPs Yegor Sobolev and Tetiana Chornovol walked out in protest against the presence at the conference of the controversial MEP Janusz Korwin-Mikke, who is persona non grata in Ukraine.

“Some of our MPs left the event because they were attended by well-known provocateurs, in particular persona non grata in Ukraine MEP Janusz Korwin-Mikke. If I wouldn’t have left now, because of the end of my visit, I also would have left the forum in protest,” – said Syroid.

In Syroid’s opinion, organizers of the forum should prevent such “provocations.”

“It seems to me as a pointless meeting, because we all know Russia’s position, but how can it help the dialogue of Ukraine and Europe? If they [Russia’s representatives] can not help in this dialogue, then why should they be invited here – to turn it all into a destruction and a farce?” – said the Vice-Speaker.
