In Lugansk region of the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation there was absolutely quiet yesterday.

In Donetsk region the situation was tense in Svitlodarsk district, where the enemy repeatedly used the weapons of the armored infantry carrier (BMP-1) and anti-tank rocket complex (PTRK) and light weapons. Shelling at Ukrainian positions began yesterday after midnight, and lasted with interruptions until late evening, said Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, the spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for ATO issues at the briefing in Analytical-Information Center of the Ukrainian Security Service, Joinfo.ua reported.

In Horlivka district it was somewhat quieter yesterday – militants broke the silence mode only the village of Zaitseve.

Near the Donetsk airport the situation was tense as always. In particular, in Opytne militants fired at Ukrainian positions from weapons of an armored infantry carrier (BMP-2). Insurgents held several armed provocations with small arms and grenade launchers of different systems along the front line from Avdiyivka to Pisky.

In Mariupol district, Russia-backed militants broke the silence mode in Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Starohnativka using only small arms.

No Ukrainian soldier was killed or wounded in action yesterday.

Also, yesterday a sniper fired on the patrol car of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Maryinka.

SMM observers were not injured. They arrived in the area near the contact line to facilitate the repair of the gas pipeline in Maryinka damaged six months ago. Representatives of the OSCE, as well as officers of Ukrainian side of Joint Center for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC), the Emergency Service engineers and officers of civil-military cooperation had to guarantee the safety of the repairmen team.
