Ukrainian aviation administration received a letter from MFA of Ukraine, based on which it issued a landing permit for the Russian flight, despite the ban, which Ukraine imposed on all Russian flights on November 25, 2015.
As the aviation authority on Monday said to Interfax news agency, the airliner carried an official delegation led by Boris Gryzlov, Russia’s plenipotentiary representative on the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in Donbas, appointed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 26, 2015, Joinfo.ua reports.
“The President [of the Russian Federation – Ed.] set the task for me: to do everything possible to negotiate under conditions of protracted internal conflict in Ukraine”, – said Gryzlov, commenting his appointment. – “In this case, we will proceed from the need to complete and, most importantly, the faithful observance of the Minsk agreements.”
The First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security of the Russian Federation Franz Klintsevich said that appointment of Boris Gryzlov as a representative in the contact group on Ukraine indicated the interest of Russia in the settlement of the situation in Ukraine.
At the previous meeting on December 22, 2015, the Trilateral Contact Group reached the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect at 00:00 of Wednesday December 23, 2015, but has never been fully observed by the Russia-backed illegal armed groups.
