OSCE: the observers were shelled from the militants’ territory

According to the OSCE report, the observers came from militants-controlled Zayichenko to the territory south-southwest from the center of the village of Kominternove. There the patrol got out of the cars and proceeded on foot, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.

“At 11:20 during the analysis of the third funnel, SMM heard three single shots conducted at a distance of 150-200 meters to the north-northwest from the position of the mission, and have seen the third shot hit the ground in 5-7 meters north east of their position “, – the report said.

Positions of the ATO forces are located outside Kominternove. Thus, the OSCE confirmed that the fire led to the territory controlled by the Russian proxies.

It should be recalled that yesterday, the Russia-controlled separatists tried to ambush the OSCE SMM observers.

According to the information of the Ukrainian side of the Joint Coordination Center for Ceasefire Monitoring, terrorist troops tried to direct the OSCE SMM observers to an ambush, where the militants, dressed in the uniform of Armed Forces of Ukraine, planned to shoot the observers and accuse Ukrainian troops of violating the Minsk Agreements and Ukraine – of the inability to provide the proper conditions for the OSCE SMM to perform its functions under the mandate.

The village of Kominternove, located in the so-called gray area on the contact line, 23 km north-east of Ukrainian-controlled strategic Azov sea port city of Mariupol in Donetsk region, has been occupied by the militants of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (“DPR”) since December 22.
