On Wednesday December 23, the Central Bank of Russia issued a new banknote dedicated to Crimea, which Russia annexed in March 2014, Joinfo.ua reports.

Russia illegally annexed Crimea from Ukraine in March 2014 during military invasion to the territory of the peninsula.

The new banknote of 100 rubles ($1.41) depicts a monument to sunken ships in Sevastopol (a naval base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet) – on one side, and the Swallow’s Nest, a mountain castle near Yalta resort town in Crimea on the other.

The Central Bank of Russia will issue 20 million of the new notes.
