If Ukraine and Russia do not agree on the prisoners exchange, a “Savchenko list” similar to “Magnitsky blacklist” may be introduced, said Pavlo Klimkin, Ukraine Foreign Minister, in the interview to Ukrainian TV on December 21, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

Klimkin also said that the work on the procedure started, but the attitude to this idea is very cautious, especially on the timing. The European side still hopes for reaching the political agreements.

If the agreements are not reached, the work on this mechanism will be stepped up very promptly, he added.

It should be recalled that on December 17, at the hearing in the Donetsk city court of the Rostov region of Russia, Nadiya Savchenko announced a hunger strike until the end of the trial.

About a month ago official representative of the Russian Investigation Committee Vladimir Markin said that Nadiya Savchenko can get a harsh sentence by the end of the year.

“Those crimes, committed by the so-called spotter Savchenko, are very clearly regulated by our law, as the crimes were committed against Russian citizens”, – said Markin.

Nadiya Savchenko, Ukrainian pilot, was captured in Donbas in June 2014, illegally transported to the Russian Federation, imprisoned by the Kremlin and accused of alleged involvement in the death of Russian journalists in Donbas.

The court hearing on her case have been conducted in the Donetsk city court of the Rostov region of Russia since September, 2015.
