During 18 December, militants carried out 59 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian army on the most part of the contact line, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to ATO press service.

According to the refined data of the ATO Staff, yesterday around noon the illegal armed groups have used portable units of MLRS Grad-P twice. Russian proxies unsightly launched 7 unguided rocket projectiles on the Ukrainian defense positions in the area of Troitske, Luhansk region.

The intensity of armed provocation by the pro-Russian illegal armed groups has increased significantly by dusk.

Militants have attacked the ATO strong points about 40 times since 18:00, including six times after midnight.

The militants struck from 82-mm mortar launchers twice in the direction of Zaitseve and Krasnohorivka. Positions of the ATO forces in the area of Mar’inka and Krasnohorivka came under intense sighted fire from small arms, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and anti-aircraft installations in the evening. To save their own lives and the lives of local residents, Ukrainian soldiers were forced to open fire in response with unforbidden by the Minsk agreements weapons, which made the militants stop shelling.

In addition, near temporarily occupied Donetsk, militants repeatedly fired with small arms and grenade launchers on Ukrainian positions near Avdiyivka and Pisky.

Mercenaries hit Horlivka, Mayorsk, Zaitseve, Novoselivka and Novgorodske with the same weapons.

Three times per night they fired with small arms at Shyrokyne.

After midnight, the ATO forces registered single-shot fire from the temporarily occupied territories  toward Ukrainian positions in Pisky and Avdiyivka.
