For the past three days, Russian aviation has destroyed six objects of illegal oil production in Syria and seven convoys with oil and the derivatives. This was stated by Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant-General Sergey Rudskoy, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Vesti.ru.
“Over the last few weeks the intensity of the airstrikes on the positions of ISIS and other terrorist groups increased. Russian aviation continues to give priority to undermining the terrorists’ sources of income in Syria,” – said the General.
Rudskoy said Russian bombings reduced the ISIS’ revenues from the illegal trade of oil in half – from three to one and a half million dollars.
He also said the Syrian army has released nine towns in the province of Aleppo during the past week of.
“In the province of Aleppo, the Syrian government forces continue to expand the security zone around the airfield Kvayres, developing the offensive into the south-western direction to Idlib. Last week, overcoming stubborn resistance of gangs, they released nine towns”, – he said.
Rudskoy added that Syria’s armed forces continue their offensive on all fronts with the support of the Russian aviation. The most intense fighting was going on in the provinces of Latakia, Aleppo, Hama, Homs and Damascus suburbs.
