The European Commission to give a positive recommendation on the visa-free regime for Ukraine and Georgia on Tuesday.
This was stated by Johannes Hahn, the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, before the meeting of the EU Council on Foreign Affairs in Brussels on Monday, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to UKRINFORM.
“This week we have received positive reports and recommendations on issues of visa liberalization”, – the politician said about the reports of the European Commission on the progress of implementationof the action plan on visa liberalization for Ukraine and Georgia.
In turn, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkyavichus said he believes in the positive prospects for the visa-free regime for Ukrainians and Georgians. He noted that the countries had made progress on the issue of visa-free dialogue.
Lithuanian Minister also noted that the decision on the extension of the EU sanctions against Russia will be taken by consensus.
