Volunteers brought 30 bulletproof vests for service dogs of the Border Guard Service in Luhansk region, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to Korrespondent.
Armored vests can protect the dogs from injuries from stones, sticks, knives even bullets, as well as the fragments of shells. They consist of the two parts for neck and chest, which are interconnected and are regulated depending on dog’s size and almost does not restrict their moves.
The vests will be tested for compliance with technical standards before using on duty.
The handlers have also received from volunteers dog food, booths, leashes, medicines, odor simulators.
The State Border Service pointed out that with the help of sniffer dogs at the state border in Luhansk region they found 26 weapon units, more than 26 thousand of ammunition and more than 11 kilograms of explosives from the beginning of the year.
