Russian fighter-bombers Su-34, for the first time, flew on a mission not only with aerial bombs OFAB-500 and guided aerial bombs KAB-500, but with “air-air” missiles of short and medium range. Aircraft were equipped with missiles for defense,” – said the representative of the Air Space Forces Colonel Igor Klimov, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to Vesti.ru.

Missiles are self-directed and can hit targets at a distance of 60 kilometers.

Earlier, General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces stated that Russia changes its strategy of action in Syria after Turkey shot down Russian Su-24 bomber in Syrian airspace.

Firstly, all the air strikes will be carried out only under cover of fighter jets, stressed the chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Sergey Rudskoy.

Second, Moscow will strengthen air defense throughout its military group in Syria and off shore. For this, missile cruiser “Moscow”, equipped with air defense system “Fort”, will take under control the coastal region of Latakia. The “Fort” system is similar to  C-300.

“We warn that all goals that represent a potential threat for us will be destroyed,” – said Lieutenant-General Sergei Rudskoy.

And the third: all contacts with Turkey on military lines will be terminated.

It should be recalledAccording to Syrian media, the Russian jets bombed a market with civilians in the town of Jericho, Idlib province in Syria, killing at least 40 people
