Zhirinovsky said that Turkey wants to take over Syria because of the large volume of oil. Turkish President has a plan to become a sultan and restore influence on former colonies of the Ottoman Empire.

Zhirinovsky also said, it’s “profitable for Turkey to seize Syria, because there is no state there. There’s oil, large areas in Syria. They constantly violate the border with Syria, receive from the militants smuggled oil,”- says the politician.

Zhirinovsky also said that Turkey is “playing on all fronts.” ” When you play for all teams, you will lose,” – he said. “Turks always hated us, and this is in the history books.”

Moreover, Zhirinovsky has traditionally offered to close the tourist flow to Turkey, to stop fuel supplies through the pipeline “Blue Stream”, and said that President Putin has the right to start military actions against Turkey.

“He has the permission of the Council of the Federation to use the armed forces anywhere in the world,” – said Zhirinovsky.

It should be recalled that today Turkish Air Forces shot down Russian Su-24 on the border with Syria. Russian officials denied Turkish air space violation. Turkey said the pilot was warned 10 times. According to unconfirmed information from Russian media, one of the pilots was killed and another was captured.

Vladimir Putin called the incident “a stab in the back” and said that this attack will have tragic consequences for Russian-Turkish relations.
