In Crimea, electricity has been turned off from last night. So, people are buying candles and fuel.

Crimean authorities said that they have the fuel stocks for 20 days. But people have their own generators, so they are buying up large volumes of fuel. Many people, who has not have it yet, now buy the generators. This was stated by Minister of Fuel and Energy of the occupied Crimea Sergey Yegorov, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Allcrimea.net.

The authorities also will apply the so-called ‘rolling blackouts’ – electricity turn off in all regions of Crimea evenly, in order to ensure a fair approach.

“The Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Crimea developed a schedule of rolling blackouts on equal footing. Thus, the regions of the republic will be disconnected from the power evenly. This will prevent social tension among the population “, – said Yegorov.

“All municipal authorities are working in emergency mode. All the deputy prime ministers established contacts with supervised regions, the information comes online. Heads of municipalities assessed the situation as stable,” – Vice Premier reported.

But, long lines of people are stretched at the working gas station, half of supermarkets are closed, in working stores people are buying gasoline generators, flashlights and candles.

In particular, in Simferopol, the ambulances are waiting in lines at the gas stations. Long queues are at the working ATMs.

Hospitals and other social institutions work on the individual energy sources.

It should be recalled that that the electricity supply to the Crimea from Ukraine stopped tonight. Energy Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn assured that the repair crews will restore the safe operation of the Ukrainian energy system and energy supply to the districts of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and Crimea within a few days.
