The Trilateral contact group had a meeting in Minsk today. “Ukraine demanded the full and strict implementation of the first paragraph of the Minsk Agreement – cessation of fire”, – the press secretary of the former President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma Darka Olifer wrote on her Facebook page, Joinfo.ua reports.
“Unfortunately, systematic shelling of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, do not allow subgroups on economic, humanitarian and political issues to work effectively,” – she wrote.
“The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission still has no access to the places of military equipment withdrawal in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, and, also has no access to the part of the Ukrainian-Russian border, uncontrolled by Ukraine. Ukraine also demands tolerance to the international organizations and experts, in particular, to Doctors without Borders, on the territory of the certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions – in order to ensure the distribution of humanitarian assistance to the civilian population of these territories of Donbas”, – said Darka Olifer.
The participants of the meeting also emphasized on the lack of progress in resolving in the issue of the exchange of illegally detained persons, the Trilateral Contact Group highlighted the need to intensify this process.
It should be recalled that yesterday in ATO area the militants continued provocative attacks on Ukrainian positions from small arms, grenade launchers and even “Grad” MRLS.
Earlier Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko authorized the Armed Forces to open fire in return because of the escalation in Donbas.
