European Champion 2014 in Race Walking Elmira Alembekova has received from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) notification of a positive reaction control sample “B”, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to Vesti.ru.

On September 22, it became known that the six members of Russian race walking team were barred from competition because of positive doping tests. Other Russian athletes , such as  World Championship silver medalist 2013 Mikhail Ryzhov, bronze medalists of Euro 2014 Ivan Noskov, Denis Strelkov, Stanislav Emelyanov and Vera Sokolova were suspected of illicit drugs usage. Doping samples were taken in June in Saransk.

In 2014, a number of athletes of Mordovia race walking training center were caught on the use of illicit drugs, in connection with which the athletes were subjected to disqualification, reminds “Interfax”. In August 2014 RUSADA (Russain Anti-Doping Agency) suspended the center manager Victor Kolesnikov from participation in competitive activity. Prior to that, head of the Olympic Training Center in Saransk Victor Chegin was suspended from work too.

January 20, 2015 RUSADA for violating anti-doping rules disqualified five members of the team of Russia in race walking: Olympic champions Olga Kaniskina, Sergei Kirdyapkin and Valeria Borchina, world champion Sergey Bakulin and vice-world champion Vladimir Kanaikina. August 28 RUSADA ousted Russian Alexander Walker Yargunkina, which was discovered erythropoietin, to participate in the World Championship.

It should be recalled that yesterday IAAF voted for the decision to suspend Russian athletes from Olympic Games for cheating on doping probes.
