Russia сancelled preferential regime for Ukrainian citizens

From November 1, 2015 Russia has ceased the preferential regime of staying on the territory of the Russian Federation for citizens of Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to Interfax.

The preferences remain for refugees from the east of Ukraine. The rest of Ukrainians can stay in Russia for 90 days within 180 days without permits (work permit, temporary residence permit or other).

“Citizens of Ukraine, working on the territory of Russia, and wishing to extend their legal stay, must apply to the Federal Migration Service for obtaining a licence,” – said to Interfax the head of the Federal Migration Service Konstantin Romodanovsky.

According to him, after the first of November the citizens of Ukraine will have 30 days for registration of a legal or employment status in the territory of Russia.

“After November 1, 2015 Ukrainian citizens will have the same status as the citizens of other CIS countries in the territory of the Russian Federation. From December 1, 2015 those, who will violate the regime, will face the administrative penalties, including the ban of entry,” – said the head of the Federal Migration Service.
