The first results of the local elections in Ukraine has been published on the site of the Central Election Commission, Joinfo.ua reports.

According to the CEC, in Ukraine has elected 40 heads of village councils in the regions of Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovograd, Lviv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi.  Most of the favorites are self-nominated – 31%, Petro Poroshenko Block – 8%, Solidarity – 8%, Vidrodzhennia (Renaissance) – 1%.

Also, the 491 MPs have been elected. It should be noted that the Poltava region is the fastest region to count the votes – 161 elected MPs of village councils have already been recognized as elected.

It should recalled that yesterday in Mariupol, Donetsk region the local elections did not take place, because the city election commission refused to accept the bulletins, therefore they have not been delivered to polling stations. The citizens could not vote at more than 205 polling stations.

President Poroshenko stressed, that the local elections in Mariupol are essential and  this situation is totally unacceptable. The President emphasized that the elections in Mariupol were essential. He is confident that they must be held in 2015. “It is the face of Ukraine. We should demonstrate to the whole world that Ukraine is a free and democratic state and we do everything for the elections to meet the highest world standards,” – President said.
