On October 17 the militants respected the truce almost completely. But at 20:00 near Shyrokyne they fired with small armes at Ukrainian positions. None was wounded.
The Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE continues verifying the withdrawal of weaponry by AFU. In a few days the Ukrainian side will begin the second phase of withdrawal, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to the ATO press service.
Ukrainian military continue amending of the engineering equipment on the positions, especially on those where the weaponry has been withdrawn to.
On Saturday, October 17, a group of officers of the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for control and coordination for the ceasefire and stabilization at the boundary line has worked in Lugansk region.
According to the head of the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination and Stabilization Major-General Boris Kremenetskyi, the main purpose of the working visit is the interaction with the Special monitoring mission during the verification of the activities.
It should be recalled that for almost three weeks in Luhansk region Ukraine has continued the implementation of Minsk agreements of 12 February 2015 in the part of the withdrawal of tanks and artillery units of caliber of 100 millimeters and mortars of a caliber up to 120 mm to a distance of 15 kilometers from the contact line to create a security zone.
Recently the representatives of SMM of the OSCE have completed verification of the weaponry withdrawal by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in certain areas outside the 15-kilometer zone. Ukrainian side has provided for SMM of the OSCE a free access all regions to carry out the necessary process of verification measures according to the Minsk agreements.
After SMM of the OSCE will issue an official report on the results of its activities, the first phase of the withdrawal of weapons by the Ukrainian side will be considered as completed. Then Ukraine will start the second phase of the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the boundary line.
