Russian aviation in Syria has supported Bashar Assad’s army in the offensive in populated areas al-Tamana and Sukayk in the Idlib province. The attack has continued for two days. Russian Defense Ministry confirmed this information, Joinfo.ua reports.
According to Russian media, Russian Air Group was reinforced by several Su-30 fighter aircrafts to back-up operations of other aircrafts in Syria, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, the official representative of the Russian Defence Ministry said to the reporters.
” The Su-30s provide the back-up to all flights of our aircraft in the Syrian Arab Republic, ” – he said.

To date, the mixed air group of the Russian Air Forces in Syria consists of about 50 pieces of equipment: four multi-purpose fighter Su-30cm, six Sukhoi Su-34 and twelve Su-24M, twelve Su-25, plus multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopters and shock Mi-24.
