Poroshenko in Astana: Kazakhstan to supply coal and oil to Ukraine

On October 9, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko started his official two-day visit to Kazakhstan. The key issues of negotiations in Astana are the cooperation in energy sphere and diversification of energy supply to Ukraine

The key issues of negotiations in Astana are the cooperation in energy sphere and diversification of energy supply to Ukraine, Joifo.ua reports with the reference to the AP press service.

“We will hold consultations on energy issues shortly. Particular attention was paid to the supply of Kazakh coal to Ukraine with a view to diversify our energy supply sources,” – President Poroshenko said. “Cooperation mechanisms have been worked out in details. I hope that they will be implemented in concrete projects and agreements,” – he said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev also noted that it was possible to support Ukraine with oil resources. This issue is also being discussed.

During the visit the Presidents will sign series of bilateral documents outlining priorities for the development of bilateral relations of Ukraine and Kazakhstan in trade-economic, fuel and energy, agroindustrial, transport, industrial and space areas in 2015-2017.
