Today October 7 Russia launched missiles from warships in the Caspian Sea to hit ISIS positions in Syria, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to Vesti.ru.

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said four warships fired 26 sea-based cruise missiles “Kalibr” on 11 targets, destroying them and causing no civilian casualties. He said that footage of the strikes was published on the official Russian Defence Ministry Youtube channel.

The ships were located 1,500km (930 miles) away from Syria.

As Shoigu reported, “cruise missiles successfully hit all the targets set. Aim accuracy at long distance was about three meters.” According to Russians, the missiles destroyed “ammunition and explosives production plants, command posts, depots of arms and fuel, as well as training camps”.

“Targets were agreed with our partners in advance,” – told member of the General Staff, Colonel-General Andrei Kartapolov.

It should be recalled that China is going to join Russian air strikes in Syria with J-15 warplanes deployed on Liaoning-CV-16 aircraft carrier.

Yesterday Syrian opposition of the Army of Islam said that Russian troops in Syria lost the third plane that was shot down by the opposition fighters
