Unusually for him, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived to Paris early today to meet French President Francois Hollande for private conversation, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to Reuters.
At the meeting Hollande discussed with Putin the three conditions required by France for cooperation with Russia in Syria. The said conditions are: to attack ISIS and Al Qaeda and no other targets, to ensure the safety of civilians, and put in place a political transition that will see the departure of Russia’s ally Syrian President Bashar Assad.
The two leaders were talking behind closed doors. Both Hollande and Putin looked stern and frosty-faced in front of photographers and cameramen.
It should be recalled that earlier today Alexei Pushkov, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs said that Russian Air Forces in Syria, presumably, will conduct an air operation for four months.
