Yesterday October 1, for the first time in a few weeks, it was completely quiet in the ATO area. The enemy did not shoot at Ukrainian positions and respected the silence mode in the temporarily occupied territory, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to ATO press service.
Unfortunately, one Ukrainian soldier was injured in tripwire grenade explosion near Luganske village. One civilian was wounded in tripwire grenade explosion near Shchastya. Both villages are located on the contact line. The information was reported by Colonel Andriy Lysenko, Speaker of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine on ATO at the briefing in Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
Due to the dangerous situation, experts of the state emergency service and military engineers are working hard to clean the front zone of mines and unexploded shells. During the past day they searched nearly 7 hectares of the territory and deactivated 8 explosive devices.
And on October 2 from midnight to 6 am along the contact line no shooting was detected.
On September 29 at the Minsk peace talks the Trilateral contact group signed an agreement on the withdrawal of weapons under 100mm caliber. Ukrainian forces hope that the long-awaited truce will allow implementation of the next stage of the Minsk agreements on withdrawal of weapons under 100mm caliber, and will open more opportunities for the infrastructure restoration in Donbas on the eve of winter.
