The headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Centre reports, that gangs of mercenaries fight each other for power and resources. And the militants from the local villages massively resign and defect, Joinfo.ua reports.
“So recently, “Vostok” gang attacked the gang led by so-called “Cadet”, which consists of about 400 militants. According to intelligence, Cadet’s gang has “Vostok” on its right flank, and the left flank is exposed. So the militants fear the Ukrainian forces can reach them from the rear. There were fortifications there – caponiers – where militants hid. But they defected and now the place is empty “, – reported in the ATC.
Also, according to security officials, the militants, who defended positions near Donetsk on the Maryinka – Dokuchayivsk direction, massively wrote reports on the dismissal.
“The battalion commanders of militants at the front lines reported demands to their superiors, which are necessary to convince militants to stay. Is they want to keep the integrity of the platoon, they need equipment, ammo, engineering machinery to dig trenches, placement for personnel, cash to pay etc. Superiors promised to settle these issues, but no results so far. So the militants defect. Winter is coming and no one wants to fight on an empty stomach and in step-ins,”- ATC representative said.
In turn, the ATO press center reports that during September 30, although militants almost followed the ceasefire, they still conducted some armed provocations.
So, at 20:50 on the temporarily occupied territory near Zaitseve, mercenaries opened intensive fire from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns toward Ukrainian base.
And at 23:00 militants fired randomly with small arms Ukrainian position in Luhanske village on Artemivsk direction.
On October 1, from midnight to 6 am no firings were detected along the contact line.
