Ivica Dacic, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office welcomes the agreement on the withdrawal of tanks, artillery under 100mm and mortars up to 120mm from the contact line in eastern Ukraine  signed yesterday at the meeting of Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk , Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to the OSCE press release.

“The agreement is a sign of good will of all to continue the peace process, which is the only way towards the goal I believe we all share – return to peace ” – Dacic said. He also added that “it shall also provide an additional boost to strengthening the ceasefire”.

“Now is the time to further increase the level of trust between all the sides and speed up the implementation of measures in the political, humanitarian and economic fields,” – said Dacic.

According to him, today it is necessary to do everything “for furthering the political process, and for making further steps towards full implementation of the Minsk agreements.”

Dacic thanked to all participants who contributed for the signing of the agreement.

It should be recalled that the agreement was signed yesterday by Martin Sajdik, Leonid Kuchma, Azamat Kulmuhametov. Trilateral contact group expects that this document will be signed by Aleksandr Zakharchenko and Ihor Plotnytskyi.

“This agreement puts into practice the initiative of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, which he voiced in the course of the Minsk agreement dated September 5, 2014 and February 12, 2015,” – said Dariia Olifer, press secretary of ex-President Leonid Kuchma.
