Russian delegation left UN General Assembly hall amid Ukrainian President’s speech, only one diplomat stayed, according to Russian media, Joinfo.ua reports.
“We left the hall to protest the openly politicized and aggressive speech, which did not match the topic of the summit,” – Russian diplomat said.
Answering the question why one of the delegation members stayed in the hall, the source said that “the Russian side has the habit of listening to his opponents and not to leave their speeches without attention.”
It should be recalled that earlier the Press Service of the AP published the statement of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko at the Summit for the adoption of sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the framework of the UN General Assembly.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin’ speech was scheduled on Monday, September 28. Ukrainian Diaspora of the U.S. initiated the protests during Putin’s performace. They will come to UN headquarters in New York with the slogans and demands to release political prisoners, restore the sovereign borders of Ukraine and to establish an international tribunal for MH17.
