The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has banned Russian airlines’ passenger flights to Ukrainian airports, and transit flights over the territory of Ukraine, carrying “unknown” or military goods are also prohibited.
According to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to ban flights of Russian airlines to Ukraine, primarily of Aeroflot and Transaero companies. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, September 25, Joinfo.ua reports.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine also prohibits the transit of Russian airlines flights over the territory of Ukraine, “if they carry military, dual-use goods or the Russian military personnel.”
He instructed to inform the Russian side on this decision: “Russian planes with Russian tricolor have no business in Ukrainian airports.”
It should be recalled that earlier Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree which applied sanctions to 400 people and 90 legal entities, most of them from Russia, involved in the annexation of the Crimea and aggression in the Donbas.
“The government insists on the immediate implementation of all sanctions that are decided upon by the National Security and Defense Council,” – PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed.
