ATO latest news

Yesterday the militants increased attacks in the Artemivsk direction on the results of a round of Minsk negotiations, where the self-proclaimed ‘DPR’,‘LPR’ and the Russian Federation representatives put forward an ultimatum to Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports.

Unfortunately, the past day in militant-controlled zone has not been entirely quiet. So, from midnight till 18:00 of illegal armed groups respected the truce, but in the evening they fired at the Ukrainian position on the Artemivsk direction again.

So, from 18:00 till 19:00 the militants attacked Ukrainian base on Majorsk direction with sniper rifles, small arms and rocket-propelled grenades. Near 19:00, the militants fired the Ukrainian positions in Zaitsevo with the small arms. And at 18:55, 21:40 and 22:30 they attacked on Lozova direction with small arms. In addition, about 23:00, mercenaries hit on the Ukrainian units from rocket-propelled grenades in Luganske village.

In Lugansk direction at 23:30 militants have also used a grenade launcher near Sokilniki.

We should also mention the provocative actions of the pro-Russian gangs. Near 18:00, on the occupied territories militants intensified the small arms fire near the contact line in the direction of the Zaitsevo village. At 18:40 militants lanched 30 automatic grenade at ATO forces base near Luganske village.

Despite provocations, Ukrainian soldiers strictly adhere the ceasefire.

In general, over the past day 9 illegal armed units again violated the ceasefire.

Such activity may be caused by the results of the round of Minsk negotiations, where the self-proclaimed ‘DPR’,‘LPR’ and the Russian Federation representatives put forward demands  to Ukraine.

Despite the ceasefire, the subversive militant groups plant mines in the roads, utilities, etc., said the head of the press service of the General Staff of AFU Vladyslav Seleznyov.

“Against the background that number of attacks significantly reduced, we see quite lively activities of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy, mining roads, utilities, building, etc., and it is a very serious problem, “- Seleznyov said.
